Data Deletion
Last updated: August 6, 2026
This page explains how to delete your StarFlywheel account and the data associated with it, how to disconnect a platform you have connected (such as Google), and how to request deletion if you do not have a StarFlywheel account. StarFlywheel is a product of Ascend Net Solutions, LLC.
You can delete your account yourself, at any time, without contacting us. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
1. Delete Your Account Yourself
The fastest way to delete your data is directly in the app. No request, approval, or waiting period is involved.
- Sign in to your StarFlywheel account.
- Go to Account → Profile.
- Scroll to the Delete Account section at the bottom of the page.
- Click Delete Account and review the list of what will be removed.
- Type DELETE in the confirmation field to unlock the button.
- Confirm. Your account and data are deleted immediately and you are signed out.
There is no grace period and no recovery window. Once the deletion completes, we cannot restore your account or its data. If you want a copy of your information, export it before you delete.
2. What Gets Deleted
Deleting your account removes:
- Your profile and login: your name, email address, password, profile picture, and the link between your StarFlywheel account and any third-party sign-in such as Sign in with Google
- Every organization you solely own, and all data inside it — business locations, QR codes, campaigns, customer lists, review requests, collected reviews, business profile intelligence data, billing records, and usage metrics
- Your notification records: notification history and delivery preferences held by our notification provider
- Connected platform authorizations: stored access and refresh tokens for any platform you connected, along with the data we retrieved using them
If an organization you solely own has an active paid subscription, we cancel that subscription before deleting the organization. You are not billed again after cancellation.
3. Organizations You Share With Other People
Because an organization can hold data belonging to your colleagues and your customers, we do not let one person delete it out from under everyone else.
If you own an organization that has other members
Account deletion is blocked, and StarFlywheel will name the organizations standing in the way. Either transfer ownership to another member or remove the other members first, then delete your account. This prevents a shared workspace from disappearing without its remaining members knowing.
If you are a member of someone else's organization
Your membership and your personal information are removed. The organization itself and its business data remain with its owner, who is responsible for that data.
4. Disconnecting a Connected Platform
You can remove a platform connection without deleting your StarFlywheel account. This is the right option if you want to keep using StarFlywheel but stop us from accessing a particular platform.
There are two independent things you can revoke.
- A connected Google Business Profile: disconnect it in StarFlywheel under Settings → Locations, on the location it is attached to. This stops all future access immediately and deletes the stored authorization token.
- StarFlywheel's access to your Google account: revoke it directly at myaccount.google.com/permissions. This works whether or not you are signed in to StarFlywheel.
Disconnecting stops future access, but it does not by itself erase review data we already retrieved and stored. To delete that too, either delete your account as described above or email us at privacy@starflywheel.com and ask us to delete the stored Google data for a specific location. We will confirm when it is done.
5. How Long Deletion Takes
- Deleting your account in the app: immediate. The data is removed as you confirm, not queued for later processing.
- Disconnecting a platform: immediate.
- A deletion request sent by email: completed within 30 days of us verifying your identity, and usually much sooner.
After live data is deleted, residual copies can persist briefly in our encrypted database backups until those backups are overwritten on their normal rotation. Backups are not used to serve the product, and restored data would be re-deleted.
6. What We Keep, and Why
A small amount of information survives deletion, because deleting it would break a legal obligation or a promise we made to someone else:
- Financial records: invoices and payment records we are required to retain for tax and accounting purposes
- Opt-out and suppression records: if someone replied STOP or unsubscribed, we keep the minimum record needed to keep honoring that choice. Deleting it would let that person be contacted again, which is the opposite of what they asked for.
- Aggregated and anonymized data: statistics that no longer identify you or any individual
See the Data Retention section of our Privacy Policy for more detail.
7. If You Are a Customer of a Business That Uses StarFlywheel
If you received a review request from a local business and never created a StarFlywheel account, your information was given to us by that business. The business decides what happens to it; we only process it on their behalf.
- To stop text messages: reply STOP to any message. Your opt-out is recorded immediately. See our SMS Consent & Compliance page.
- To stop emails: use the unsubscribe link in any message.
- To have your information deleted: contact the business directly, or email us at privacy@starflywheel.com. We will pass your request to the business and help them act on it.
8. Requesting Deletion by Email
If you cannot sign in, or you want something deleted without removing your whole account, email privacy@starflywheel.com and include:
- The email address on the account
- The business or organization name, if you know it
- What you want deleted — the whole account, one organization, or data from one connected platform
We may ask you to verify your identity before acting, so that nobody can delete your data by pretending to be you. We respond within 30 days and will confirm in writing once the deletion is complete.
